Uses
Used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypersensitivity to components.
Side effects
May cause diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, and upper respiratory symptoms.
Warnings
Monitor for lactic acidosis, pancreatitis, heart failure, and renal dysfunction.
How it works
