Uses

Used as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated triglycerides and improve lipid levels in adults with hyperlipidemia.

Do not use if

Severe renal impairment, active liver disease, gallbladder disease, or hypersensitivity.

May cause liver enzyme elevations, muscle pain, gallstones, increased creatinine, or gastrointestinal symptoms.

Monitor liver function, renal function, and signs of muscle toxicity during treatment.

Fenofibrate is converted to fenofibric acid, which activates PPAR-alpha and improves lipid metabolism.

Store at controlled room temperature in a dry place.
