Uses

Used as an adjunct to diet for severe hypertriglyceridemia and certain forms of hyperlipidemia.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, active liver disease, gallbladder disease, and hypersensitivity.

Abdominal pain, nausea, elevated liver enzymes, muscle pain, and headache may occur.

May cause hepatotoxicity, gallstones, myopathy, or rhabdomyolysis, especially with statins.

Fibric acid derivative that activates PPAR-alpha, reducing triglycerides and improving lipid profiles.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
