Uses

Used as an adjunct to diet to reduce severe hypertriglyceridemia and to lower elevated LDL cholesterol when recommended LDL-lowering therapy is not suitable.

Do not use if

Severe renal impairment, active liver disease, pre-existing gallbladder disease, or hypersensitivity to fenofibric acid.

Side effects

May cause elevated liver enzymes, muscle pain, increased serum creatinine, gallstones, or gastrointestinal symptoms.

Warnings

Monitor liver function, renal function, and muscle-related symptoms during treatment.
