Uses

A topical gel used for the treatment and prevention of hypertrophic scars and keloids following surgery, burns, or injuries. Also used to soften and flatten raised scar tissue.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to heparin, allantoin, or onion extract. Avoid application on open wounds or infected skin.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Occasional mild skin irritation, redness, or itching at the application site may occur.

Warnings

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If severe irritation or allergic reaction develops, discontinue use.

How it works

Onion extract contains quercetin and kaempferol which inhibit fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis. Heparin possesses anti-inflammatory properties and inhibits the release of fibrogenic factors. Allantoin promotes keratinocyte proliferation and skin remodeling, softening scar tissue.
