Uses
Treatment of serious invasive fungal infections, cryptococcal meningitis, and selected refractory fungal diseases. It may also be used in febrile neutropenic patients with suspected fungal infection.
Do not use if
Known hypersensitivity to amphotericin B or formulation components unless benefits outweigh risks.
Side effects
Infusion-related reactions, fever, chills, nausea, kidney impairment, and electrolyte abnormalities may occur.
Warnings
Severe hypersensitivity including anaphylaxis may occur. Monitor renal function and electrolytes during therapy.

Polyene antifungal that binds fungal cell membrane sterols, causing cell death.
