Uses

Mesterolone is an oral androgen used to treat male hypogonadism, androgen deficiency, and male infertility associated with low androgen levels or impaired spermatogenesis.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in known or suspected androgen-dependent malignancies (e.g., prostate cancer), hepatic dysfunction, and hypersensitivity to mesterolone.

Side effects

Side effects include acne, oily skin, increased libido, and potential suppression of endogenous testosterone at high doses. Virilization is less pronounced compared to other androgens.

Warnings

Regular monitoring of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and liver function is recommended during therapy. Not indicated for women due to risk of virilization.

How it works

Mesterolone is a synthetic DHT derivative with strong androgenic and weak anabolic activity. It binds to androgen receptors and is not aromatized to estrogen, making it distinct among oral androgens.
