Uses
Used for the local treatment of hemorrhoids and related anorectal conditions, including pain, itching, and inflammation. Cinchocaine provides local anesthesia and policresulen acts as an astringent and antiseptic, reducing local inflammation and promoting tissue healing.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cinchocaine (dibucaine), other amide-type local anesthetics, policresulen, or any component of the formulation. Avoid application to large open wounds or severely ulcerated tissue.
Side effects
Local application may cause transient burning, stinging, or irritation at the site. Allergic contact dermatitis to cinchocaine has been reported. Systemic absorption is minimal with topical rectal use.
Warnings
For external or intrarectal use only. Do not use in the eyes or on large areas of damaged skin. If symptoms worsen or persist beyond 7 days, consult a physician. Prolonged use should be avoided to minimize risk of local sensitization.
How it works
Cinchocaine is an amide-type local anesthetic that reversibly blocks sodium channels in sensory nerve membranes, inhibiting pain signal transmission. Policresulen is a condensation product with astringent, antiseptic, and hemostatic properties, acting locally to reduce swelling and prevent secondary infection.
Storage
Store at room temperature (below 25°C). Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly closed after use.
