Uses
Used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension requiring combination therapy.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in asthma, severe COPD, sinus bradycardia, heart block, heart failure, and hypersensitivity.
Side effects
May cause eye redness, burning, stinging, itching, allergic conjunctivitis, and fatigue.
Warnings
May cause serious respiratory or cardiovascular adverse effects due to systemic beta-blocker absorption.
How it works
Brimonidine decreases aqueous humor production and increases outflow, while timolol reduces aqueous humor formation.
