Uses

Used in treatment of colorectal, breast, gastric, pancreatic, and other susceptible cancers.

Do not use if

No absolute contraindications listed, but severe hypersensitivity requires avoidance.

Myelosuppression, mucositis, diarrhea, nausea, cardiotoxicity, and severe toxicity in susceptible patients may occur.

Monitor blood counts and toxicity closely. Patients with DPD deficiency are at increased risk of severe toxicity.

Antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis and affects rapidly dividing cells.

Store according to product labeling and protect from extreme temperatures.
