Uses
Temporarily relieves itchy, red eyes due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair, and dander. Used for allergic conjunctivitis combining a decongestant (naphazoline) and an antihistamine (pheniramine).
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients sensitive to any ingredient in the product. Use with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, or narrow-angle glaucoma.
Side effects
May cause temporary pupil dilation with light sensitivity, eye irritation, or redness. Prolonged use may lead to rebound congestion. Systemic absorption may rarely cause increased heart rate or elevated blood pressure.
Warnings
For external ophthalmic use only. Stop use and consult a doctor if eye pain, vision changes, or worsening redness persists beyond 72 hours. Pupils may become temporarily enlarged causing light sensitivity.
How it works
Naphazoline is an alpha-adrenergic agonist that causes vasoconstriction reducing ocular redness. Pheniramine is an H1 antihistamine that blocks histamine-mediated allergic responses, relieving itching and irritation.
Storage
Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F).
