Used for chronic management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout when allopurinol is unsuitable or ineffective.

Do not use if

Contraindicated with azathioprine or mercaptopurine therapy.

Liver function abnormalities, nausea, joint pain, and rash may occur.

Associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular death in some patients with established cardiovascular disease.

Xanthine oxidase inhibitor that lowers serum uric acid levels.

Store at room temperature in original packaging.
