Uses
Used for local treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis caused by susceptible Candida species.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to butoconazole or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause vaginal burning, itching, soreness, swelling, pelvic discomfort, or abdominal cramping.
Warnings
Mineral oil in the formulation may weaken latex condoms and diaphragms for several days after treatment.
How it works
An imidazole antifungal that inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis and limits fungal growth.
