Uses
Topical antiseptic used for hand washing to decrease bacteria on the skin. Also used for minor skin cuts, scrapes, and wound cleansing to help prevent infection.
Do not use if
For external use only; avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use in or near the ears. Avoid use on deep wounds, animal bites, or serious burns without medical supervision.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated at recommended concentrations. Skin irritation and redness may develop with prolonged or repeated use. Discontinue use if irritation persists.

For external use only. Do not ingest. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
How it works
Chloroxylenol (PCMX) is a halogenated phenolic compound with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi. It acts by disrupting microbial cell membranes and denaturing cellular proteins.
