Uses

Used for serious bacterial infections including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin infections, intra-abdominal infections, and febrile neutropenia.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with immediate hypersensitivity to cefepime, cephalosporins, penicillins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Side effects

Injection-site reactions, diarrhea, rash, positive Coombs test, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Warnings

Neurotoxicity may occur, especially in patients with renal impairment. Monitor for allergic reactions.
