Uses
Used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ondansetron and in those receiving apomorphine.
Side effects
Headache, constipation, dizziness, and fatigue may occur. Rarely, QT prolongation can occur.
Warnings
Use cautiously in patients with QT prolongation, electrolyte abnormalities, or concomitant serotonergic medications.
How it works
Selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist that blocks serotonin-mediated nausea and vomiting pathways.
Storage
Store at room temperature and protect from excessive moisture.
