Uses

Alpha-1 adrenergic blocker used for symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and for hypertension.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to terazosin or related quinazoline derivatives.

Side effects

Dizziness, headache, fatigue, postural hypotension, and palpitations may occur. First-dose fainting can occur.

Warnings

Use cautiously in patients prone to hypotension. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.

How it works

Selectively blocks alpha-1 receptors, relaxing vascular smooth muscle and reducing resistance. It also relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and excessive heat.
