Uses
Antineoplastic agent used with prednisone for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer previously treated with a docetaxel-containing regimen.
Do not use if
Neutrophil count ≤1500/mm³, severe hypersensitivity to cabazitaxel or polysorbate 80, and severe hepatic impairment.
Side effects
Common adverse effects include neutropenia, anemia, diarrhea, fatigue, infections, nausea, and vomiting.
Warnings
Serious neutropenia and hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Frequent blood count monitoring is required.
How it works
Microtubule inhibitor that binds tubulin, stabilizes microtubules, and inhibits cellular division.
Storage
Store at approximately 25°C. Do not refrigerate and handle as a hazardous cytotoxic medicine.
