Uses

Used for treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, particularly in postmenopausal women.

Do not use if

Hypocalcemia, severe renal impairment, esophageal abnormalities, or hypersensitivity.

Abdominal pain, dyspepsia, musculoskeletal pain, and flu-like symptoms may occur.

May cause osteonecrosis of the jaw and atypical femur fractures. Ensure adequate calcium and vitamin D.

Bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption.

Store at room temperature.
