Uses

Used for adjuvant treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women and for advanced breast cancer after tamoxifen therapy.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to exemestane or any component of the formulation.

Side effects

Hot flushes, fatigue, joint pain, headache, insomnia, and decreased bone mineral density may occur.

Warnings

Monitor bone health and vitamin D status. May cause fetal harm if used during pregnancy.

How it works

Steroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen production by blocking conversion of androgens to estrogens.

Storage

Store at 25°C; excursions permitted between 15°C and 30°C.
