Used for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including respiratory tract, skin, and ear infections.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.

May cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, and hypersensitivity reactions.

Use cautiously in patients with penicillin allergy and monitor for Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea.

Cefprozil is a second-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
