Uses

Used for postmenopausal osteoporosis, Paget's disease of bone, and hypercalcemia when alternative treatments are not suitable.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to calcitonin or formulation components.

Nausea, flushing, injection-site reactions, nasal irritation, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions and hypocalcemia. Long-term need for therapy should be reassessed periodically.

Calcitonin receptor agonist that inhibits bone resorption and helps lower serum calcium levels.

Store according to product instructions, often refrigerated before use.
