Uses

Used with a sulfonamide for the treatment of toxoplasmosis and certain protozoal infections.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to pyrimethamine or megaloblastic anemia due to folate deficiency.

Hypersensitivity reactions, rash, folate deficiency, and blood disorders may occur.

Requires monitoring for folate deficiency; folinic acid supplementation may be needed.

Folate antagonist that inhibits protozoal dihydrofolate reductase.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
