Uses

Used for treatment of acute uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in significant renal impairment, anuria, oliguria, and late pregnancy near term.

May cause nausea, headache, flatulence, dizziness, and gastrointestinal discomfort.

Serious pulmonary, hepatic, and neurologic reactions may occur during prolonged therapy.

Nitrofurantoin is an antibacterial agent that damages bacterial DNA and other cellular components in the urinary tract.

Store at room temperature in a tightly closed container.
