Uses

SSRI antidepressant used for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.

Do not use if

Contraindicated with MAO inhibitors, pimozide, and in patients with hypersensitivity to escitalopram.

Nausea, insomnia, somnolence, sweating, fatigue, decreased libido, and sexual dysfunction may occur.

Monitor for suicidal thoughts, especially in younger patients and during treatment initiation.

Enhances serotonergic activity by selectively inhibiting serotonin reuptake in the CNS.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
