Uses

Used to reduce the risk of thrombotic cardiovascular events in selected patients with acute coronary syndromes or established atherosclerotic disease.

Do not use if

Active pathological bleeding, severe hypersensitivity to either component, or severe bleeding disorders.

Side effects

Bleeding, bruising, gastrointestinal discomfort, dyspepsia, and rarely serious hemorrhage may occur.

Warnings

May increase bleeding risk. Use caution before surgery or with other anticoagulants.

How it works

Aspirin inhibits platelet thromboxane production, while clopidogrel blocks ADP-mediated platelet activation.
