Uses
Used with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, and hypersensitivity to either component.
Side effects
Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, headache, and hypoglycemia with certain combinations may occur.
Warnings
Monitor for lactic acidosis, pancreatitis, renal impairment, and vitamin B12 deficiency.
