Uses
Used for treatment and maintenance of ulcerative colitis and certain inflammatory bowel diseases.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to salicylates, aminosalicylates, or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause abdominal pain, headache, nausea, diarrhea, renal impairment, and hypersensitivity reactions.
Warnings
Monitor renal function during treatment and discontinue if significant toxicity develops.
