Uses

Used for treatment of a variety of parasitic worm infections including neurocysticercosis and hydatid disease.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to albendazole or other benzimidazoles.

May cause abdominal pain, nausea, headache, dizziness, elevated liver enzymes, and reversible hair loss.

Monitor blood counts and liver function during prolonged treatment due to risk of bone marrow suppression and hepatotoxicity.

Albendazole inhibits microtubule formation in parasites, leading to impaired glucose uptake and parasite death.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
