Uses
Used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. It is not intended for migraine prevention.
Do not use if
Ischemic heart disease, coronary vasospasm, certain arrhythmias, stroke history, uncontrolled hypertension, or hypersensitivity.
Side effects
Dizziness, fatigue, nausea, tingling, and sensations of chest, throat, or neck tightness may occur.
Warnings
Cardiovascular evaluation may be needed in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
How it works
A selective 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonist that constricts cranial blood vessels and inhibits migraine-related neuropeptide release.
